After the hair is removed the follicle can take 24-48 hours to shrink back down. During this time you don’t want to introduce bacteria to the follicle that can cause a rash or bumps. For the first 24-48 hours avoid 

- sweating excessively

- working out

- swimming

- soaking in the tub (showers are fine) 

- sexual activity 

Freshly waxed skin is also more prone to sunburn, so make sure to avoid the sun for the first 48 hours and if you really can't, be diligent about applying SPF. 

If you've had a laser treatment then avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks post treatment and ideally for two weeks before your next and wear mineral sunscreen when outside. 

To help keep your skin smooth and bump free gently exfoliate the area 3 -4 times a week starting from 48 hours post treatment, and follow up with moisturizer or oil.
